Every evening, the same blanket became a royal cape. A little girl would fasten it under her chin, declare the living room a winter kingdom and ask Dad to guard the palace door.

If your daughter has a kingdom like that, an Ice Princess portrait is a way to give it a place on her wall. A single photo of your daughter guides a personalised storybook portrait, with a silver tiara, a blue gown and a snow-covered forest.

You can see her free preview and request changes before deciding whether to buy. Then choose a canvas, fine art print or digital download as a birthday gift or a keepsake of the stories she loves today.

From her everyday photo to a winter fairytale

Her everyday clothes become a sapphire-blue gown with a bright silver snowflake on the chest. A silver tiara, a frost-white cape and snow-covered birch trees complete the winter setting.

Her photo guides her facial features, age, skin tone, eye colour and natural hair. The artwork is created digitally in a storybook oil-painting style, and physical orders are prints. Facial details and expression can vary, so use your own preview to judge the likeness.

Two further studio examples, each created from a separate solo reference. Your portrait will vary with your photo.

Choose a photo that feels like her

Choose one clear, well-lit photo of your daughter on her own. A picture from an ordinary afternoon can work well if it shows the expression you know. This style accepts one image; use a solo photo rather than a group or collage.

  • Make sure her face and natural hair are clearly visible.
  • Leave some space above her head for the tiara.
  • Choose a relaxed expression and soft, even light.
  • Avoid beauty filters, deep shadows and anything covering her face.

A parent or guardian should prepare the portrait using a photo they own or have permission to use. All skin tones, eye colours and hair types are welcome. She does not need to look like the studio examples.

The style starts in portrait format (3:4), giving the tiara and gown room in a tall composition. You can also choose landscape (4:3) before creating your preview.

Check the details that make her recognisable

Compare the preview with your original photo. Look at her face shape, eyes, natural hair and expression before checking the tiara and cape. A familiar curl or her freckles may matter more to you than the snowflakes.

If a detail needs attention, use Edit portrait before ordering. Try a clear request such as “Make the tiara a little smaller and keep her natural freckles.” This is a suggested request, not a guaranteed result. Compare the new version with the earlier one and choose the portrait you want to buy.

Choose a gift she can keep

A canvas can give her winter kingdom a place on her bedroom wall. Fine art paper has a smooth matte surface, and a digital download lets you arrange your own printing. Canvas and fine art paper are both available framed or unframed. Physical orders include a digital download of the artwork.

Our materials comparison and size guide can help you choose a finish and find space for it. Check delivery information for your destination before planning a birthday reveal.

Let Dad’s note finish the story

Once your purchased artwork is ready, you can create a downloadable keepsake card from your order page. Add a personal message and share it yourself while the printed gift is on its way. The card is a digital keepsake with no cash value and is not included in the parcel.

Write a few words about the blanket cape, a favourite bedtime story or the name she gave her imaginary palace. Your note might say:

For all the kingdoms you invent, and all the adventures still to come. Love, Dad.

A memory only you share can make the portrait feel like a gift only her dad could have chosen. You can also write a paper note to wrap with the portrait yourself.

Common questions before you create

Will the portrait still look like my daughter?

Her photo guides her features and natural hair, while the storybook treatment can change small details and expression. Check the likeness in your free preview and request changes before deciding whether to order.

Can I see the Ice Princess portrait before paying?

Yes. Create the preview free and compare versions before you buy. You only pay if you choose to order a print or digital download.

What happens to my daughter’s photo?

We use photos and artwork to provide your portrait service and fulfil your order through the providers described in our Privacy policy. We do not sell them or use them for marketing or public galleries. Keep photo and preview links private: anyone with a direct link can view the image.

Can I give it as a framed gift?

Yes. Both canvas and fine art paper offer ready-to-hang wood frames. Choose your material, size and frame after reviewing her portrait; unframed options and a separate digital download are also available.

Create her Ice Princess portrait

Start with a photo you recognise instantly, and add a note about the story she loves right now. Her blanket-cape days can become a portrait she keeps as she grows.
