Who we are
Amber Portraits is operated by Knotwise Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean Knotwise Studio LLC, the company providing the Amber Portraits service and selling the artwork you purchase.
Our mailing and principal office address is 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Our registered agent is Northwest Registered Agent Service Inc, at the same address.
Contact support@amberportraits.com or call +1 307 449 1313 for help with your artwork, an order or these policies. We reply to emails within one business day, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Pacific Time (PT).
These terms apply to creating and purchasing artwork through Amber Portraits, together with the product details and promises shown when you order. Our Refunds and Delivery policies explain order changes and fulfilment; our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
Creating and choosing your portrait
Our service uses digital image generation to interpret your photos in a chosen artistic style. It is not a commission for a manually painted original. Examples demonstrate a style rather than guaranteeing every detail of a new result.
You can explore previews without an account. Generation and editing may have reasonable usage and abuse-prevention limits. We may explain a temporary restriction or ask you to try again later; free previews are not a promise of unlimited or uninterrupted processing.
Review the likeness, composition and selected version before ordering. The delivered artwork must materially match the version and product description agreed at checkout. Editing creates versions; simply viewing another version does not replace the one assigned to an order.
Photos, permissions and responsible use
Only upload photos you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to use, submit for the processing described in our Privacy policy and use in the resulting artwork, including for your intended personal or commercial purposes. Appearing in a photograph does not necessarily give you the photographer’s copyright. Obtain appropriate permission from identifiable people depicted and from a parent or guardian where needed for a child. Do not upload unlawful, exploitative or infringing material, or use the service to deceive, harass or impersonate others.
You are responsible for obtaining these rights and permissions before uploading. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for claims, losses and liabilities arising from your unauthorised upload or use of source photos or your use of the resulting artwork in violation of third-party rights. Purchasing artwork does not cure missing permissions. This does not exclude our responsibility for our own actions or any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
You retain your rights in your source images. You allow us and the service providers involved in your request to process the images and instructions as necessary to create, store, deliver and support your artwork. We use your uploaded photos and generated artwork only to provide this portrait service and fulfil your order. We never sell them or use them for marketing, advertising, public galleries or any unrelated purpose.
Purchasers must be adults able to enter a contract. Keep order access links and account credentials private. Report unauthorised access or misuse to support.
Using the finished artwork
Upon full payment, as between you and Amber Portraits, you own your purchased artwork. We assign to you all rights, title and interest we hold in that artwork, including any intellectual property rights, to the extent transferable under applicable law. You may download, edit, crop, retouch, adapt, reproduce, print, display, publish, share, distribute, sell and license it, including for commercial promotion and merchandise, without further permission from us or additional licence fees.
These rights apply to the artwork you purchased, subject to applicable law and the rights of others. Your purchase does not transfer rights in third-party source photographs, brands or depicted people, or guarantee that digitally generated elements qualify for copyright protection or exclusive rights. Our website design, example assets, software and brand are not included in your purchase.
Orders and payment
Each order is a one-time purchase. Creating a preview or saving artwork does not place an order or authorise a charge. The selected artwork, product, size, frame, currency, total and applicable delivery charges must be presented before payment. Digital and physical products have different delivery and cancellation conditions, explained in our Refunds and Delivery policies.
You do not need to create an account to purchase. A valid email and, for physical orders, accurate delivery information are necessary to fulfil the order. Payments are processed by Stripe using the methods offered at checkout. Your purchase contract is formed when payment succeeds and we confirm your order. Keep the confirmation and contact us if any details are incorrect. Payment confirmation is separate from an estimated production or delivery date.
Prices and offers may change for future purchases; an accepted order keeps its agreed price and currency. Your bank or payment provider may charge its own currency-conversion fees. If we cannot fulfil an accepted paid order, we will tell you and refund the payment. We will not substitute another artwork or charge for an additional item without your agreement.
Limited lifetime warranty
This warranty is provided by Knotwise Studio LLC, the operator of Amber Portraits. Mailing and principal office address: 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. Telephone: +1 307 449 1313. Email: support@amberportraits.com.
Amber Portraits provides this warranty at no extra cost for physical canvas and fine art paper portraits purchased from us, including any frame supplied with the order. Coverage starts on delivery and continues for as long as the original purchaser, or the person receiving the portrait as a gift, owns it. There is no fixed expiry date or registration requirement. Replacement pieces retain the same coverage.
If the print fades or peels, or the canvas, paper or supplied frame warps during normal indoor display and care, we will replace the affected item free of charge. We cover replacement production and delivery costs, and you do not need to return the original. This is an Amber Portraits promise; it does not depend on whether our printing partner offers the same warranty.
To claim, email support@amberportraits.com with your order reference or other proof of purchase and a description of the problem. Photos help us assess the issue; if you cannot provide them, contact us to arrange another way to review it. You do not need an account or the original packaging. We will review your claim, explain the outcome and arrange a covered replacement with you. We will reimburse reasonable expenses needed to assess a covered claim; contact us before incurring costs and keep receipts.
A replacement uses your approved artwork and the same product specification where available. If that specification is no longer available, we will agree a comparable replacement with you or refund the price paid for the affected item. We will not substitute another artwork without your agreement.
This warranty covers the physical product, not a change of mind about the approved artwork or digital-only purchases and prints made by another provider. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, alterations, or damage caused by outdoor exposure, water, excessive heat or humidity, or unsuitable cleaning. These exclusions do not remove coverage for fading, peeling or warping that occurs during normal indoor use. Keep your portrait indoors and clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.
This warranty is additional to your legal rights. Its scope, ownership condition and replacement remedy do not limit any mandatory right to repair, replacement, refund or compensation. Later changes to this policy will not reduce the warranty attached to your purchase.
For customers in Australia: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Complaints and rights concerns
Email support@amberportraits.com with your order reference, what happened and the help you need. You do not need to use legal language. If you believe we have restricted your access by mistake, contact us so we can review the decision.
For a copyright, privacy or likeness concern, identify the affected image or page, explain your rights and the issue, and include your contact details. Tell us whether you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them. We will review the concern and take appropriate action.
Contacting support does not prevent you from using any regulator, dispute-resolution service or court available to you by law.
Problems, rights and service changes
Contact support about an order, a download, an infringement concern or a complaint. We will review the issue and explain the next steps. Using third-party technology, printers or carriers does not remove our responsibilities to you.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded, or limits the mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. This includes rights relating to defective, misdescribed or undelivered goods and digital content. We do not require you to waive available court or regulatory remedies.
We may restrict unlawful or abusive use proportionately, while addressing existing paid orders and any applicable refund rights. We may revise these terms for future use, showing a new revision date and providing notice of material changes affecting your rights. Changes will not retrospectively reduce rights attached to an existing purchase.
Let’s make it clear.
